The girls competed in the Giant Slalom at Purden Ski Resort today.  Samantha finished in 44th with a 50th placing in her first run and 33rd in her second run.  Katie skied to 30th place after her first run and did not finish (DNF) with a clipped gate on the second run. The girls will enjoy a day off on Tuesday and then are back at it on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Gymnastics
Today was a down day for the ginga' ninjas gymnastics team. They watched as many events as possible, with coach Cat carrying Emily around on her back to catch a bit of the women's hockey team and speed skating. They also got a glimpse of wheelchair basketball and went to watch the men's gymnastics team final.

The team made the decision not to attend practice as Reena is still working through back issues. They chose to go for rehabilitation instead and visited the amazing polyclinic for a much needed athlete massage. Hopefully Reena will be recharged and ready for individual all around on Tuesday.

The Freestyle Ski team had the day off and went to support Yukon's Alpine team at the Purden Ski Resort for the day.  In the morning, before they set off for Alpine, Niko and Kyran had media interviews with local reporters back in Yukon.   In the evening the team met with Team Yukon's communication crew and captured video interviews that, which were a good mix of media practice and fun commentary.

The boys played Team Alberta today in a tight match that saw Team Yukon come to early start and maintained the lead through 10 ends with a win at 7-4.  The final shot delivered by Yukon was a slash-double with Alberta shaking at the end with this last shot broadcast on TSN nationally to the surprise of the team.
