Rachel Pettitt - Closing Ceremony Flagbearer

Rachel Pettitt was chosen as Team Yukon's flagbearer for the closing ceremony of the Canada Winter Games. Way to go, Rachel!

Rachel recently became Yukon's first national figure skating champion. Then, on Thursday, Rachel won gold at the Games in single novice female figure skating. Rachel is committed to sport and is well respected by her peers. She is a great competitive talent and also demonstrates friendliness, compassion, and sportsmanship. Her goal for the Games was to support her team as much as possible while skating to the best of her ability -- and she certainly did both!

Rachel previously competed in the 2011 Canada Winter Games and the 2012 Arctic Winter Games. She represents Yukon but trains in Kelowna, BC.

Way to go, Rachel! A true Yukon hero.
