Badminton
The badminton team practiced today for 1.5 hours and tuned up their game for the matches tomorrow. This evening they attended the Big Sky Event at Shell Place. Competition for the team starts tomorrow at 9am when the Yukon team takes on BC. Let's go boys !
Soccer
Both Yukon Soccer teams practised at Syncrude Athletic Park, and got a feel for the location. They attended the Big Sky event, and all players enjoyed the amazing performances. Pin trading is big when in the down time. The highlight for both teams was the Big Sky event, and finally getting to play some soccer. They are all looking forward to their first games tomorrow.
Swimming
Today was a training day where our two swimmers got to
experience the incredible aquatic facility. Though they both said that for some reason the pool water down here tastes different, not sure why they are drinking the water? After the first training session the two swimmers took head coach Malwina to a baseball game and tried to teach her the many rules of this sport.

Back to the pool for an easy last warm up swim in preparation for the first races tomorrow.
First up is Luke Bakica in the 200 m breast stroke race. This is his best stroke.
Cassis will be up next in the 100 free a stroke she has been working hard on.
Then Luke has the 400 medley - a challenging race which is 100 m of each stroke - fly, back, breast, to free ) Cassis finishes the day with the 100 back, her favorite stroke.
We overheard this is a fast pool so we expect to see some great times tomorrow.
Volleyball
Both men and women's volleyball teams practiced today at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre. The hits were down and the blocks were effective! Spirits were high and players are keen to get the competition going. There are a full slate of games tomorrow beginning at 9 am when the women face British Columbia. Syncrude Centre is a spacious, well-appointed facility which is the home of the Keyano College Huskies Volleyball Team. Game on Yukon!
