Daily Wrap Report - March 9

March 9 Highlights
Alpine Skiing
Katie Vowk had to ski hard to hold onto silver in the GS today. Wesley Vangel just missed a bronze in the juvenile men's GS as did Charlie Hawes in the junior men's.

We had an excellent day on the slopes and each racer had a fast day.

Tomorrow we race in our final event, Parallel Slalom, fun, fast, two racers side by side. Great action at a spectacular venue.

Arctic Sports
Arctic Sports had another marathon day as officials and competitors caught up on the missed day at the start of the Games. Anisa Albisser and Payton Fobe each had great competitions and won silver in arm pull, while Fayne O’Donovan took bronze. Tomorrow is all about the one foot high kick, sledge jump and airplane. Watch for a record to be broken in airplane as this test of strength now includes a time component!

Badminton
One win for prism swaswirsky and Lukas kobler. Highlight of the day was the three set match against Alberta north, one of the top teams. Abbie Cuenza and Carl Knickle were unable to notch a W but have a significant highlight against a strong Greenland team where they pushed the team to 14 points in the first set. Tomorrow will see two semi final matches being played with Marek and Lukas. It looks like we'll have two bronze medal games to celebrate!

Yukon boys played their third game of the tournament against a highly motivated, defending champion NWT team. After keeping the game fairly close in the first half, yukon just couldn't consistently beat a strong NWT press and lost their first game 53 to 89.

The Yukon girls team lost a difficult game against NWT 60 to 28. They are incredibly eager to play them again tomorrow at 10:00am.
