Nadia Moser with Biathlon Yukon will be Team Yukon's flag bearer at the upcoming Canada Games Opening Ceremonies.
Treveor Twardochleb - Team Yukon's Chef de Mission - made the announcement this afternoon during a meeting with Biathlon Yukon team members.
Nadia started Biathlon in 2011. She is a senior member
of the Biathlon Yukon Velocity Squad and competes in the Youth Women and Senior
Girls categories respectively. She is a dedicated athlete, she trains and
competes in the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship and by love the sport!
She is looked up to by the rest of the team, and is an amazing role model to
our new, younger athletes.
Nadia has determined her course in Biathlon by setting
challenging personal goals and reaching them. A medal winner in every race in
her first AWGs in 2012, she then swept the podium in 2014. She placed 9th at
Nationals last year and most recently in December 2014, attended a National
Team Trial where she placed 9th, 2nd and 6th in her three races, qualifying her
as 4th overall and making the selection criteria for the Junior World
Championships. She has her sights set, literally, on becoming part of the
National Team and the Olympics.
